The BCDR-AAA sets a new standard for the provision of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services. Established in partnership with the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the world’s largest provider of conflict management and dispute resolution services, the Chamber provides international, regional and domestic commercial and governmental users contracting in the Gulf and beyond, with a purpose-built solution for the rapid, effective and certain resolution of commercial disputes.

As an independent institution, the BCDR-AAA is guided by an international Board of Trustees with a Senior Management Team of experts who administer the arbitration and mediation of commercial cases – with particular emphasis on disputes in the construction, financial services, insurance and energy sectors.

Established in 1992, CLDP is a division of the U.S. Department of Commerce that helps achieve U.S. foreign policy goals in developing and post-conflict countries through commercial legal reforms. CLDP’s unique, government-to-government technical assistance draws upon highly-experienced regulators, judges, policymakers, business leaders and attorneys from both the public and private sectors to deliver results that make meaningful and lasting changes to the legal and judicial environments of our host countries.

CLDP lawyers, resident advisors, program specialists and administrative personnel are multicultural and have expertise in international business, commercial laws, trade relations and development assistance. Most members of CLDP’s staff speak at least two languages fluently, and much of CLDP’s work is conducted in the language of the host country. Partnering with many Commerce Department bureaus, the federal judiciary, other U.S. Government agencies and international organizations, CLDP designs and implements conferences and workshops, utilizes long and short-term advisors and trains foreign delegations in the U.S. and other countries to improve commercial legal frameworks.

The Center for International Legal Education, a part of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, provides a global approach to legal education. The Center has also contracted with the Departments of State and Commerce to provide assistance to law faculties in transition countries that include LL.M. training for young faculty, summer school sessions at partner institutions, English for Lawyers courses, expert library development consultations, research centers at partner institutions, conferences with partner law faculties, and of course the Vis International Arbitration Moot consortium.
