Dr. Zlatan Meškić

Prof. Dr. Zlatan Meškić is a full professor at the Prince Sultan University (Riyadh) since 2019 – previously at the University of Zenica, where he started as assistant professor in the year 2008. He is teaching and researching in Private International Law, European Union Law and International Commercial Arbitration. He is practicing international commercial arbitration (ICC, M&A, construction). From 2015-2019 he was the Vis moot coach of the University of Zenica (semifinals in 2019, top 16 in 2018).

Prof. Zlatan Meškić finished his integrated bachelor and master studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Vienna in 2006. He is also a PhD holder from the University of Vienna on the topic “Europäisches Verbraucherrecht unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des Grünbuchs 2007”. Speaks and writes German and English fluently, has basic skills in French. He has published 5 books and over 60 papers in Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian, English and German language. He is the chief editor of the Balkan Yearbook for European and International Law, published by Springer; former Chief editor of the Journal „Annals of the Law Faculty University of Zenica“ (http://www.prf.unze.ba/anali.html ) – now member of the editorial board; and a member of the editorial board of the Zeitschrift für europarechtliche Studien (ZeuS).

Prof. Zlatan Meškić is a permanent educator of judges in the field of Private International Law and the European Union Law (including EU Consumer Law and EU antidiscrimination Law) at the Centre for education of judges and prosecutors in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (2010 – present) and Republika Srpska (2011- present) and multiple times also in Macedonia and Serbia (2011 – present). He was a visiting researcher financed by Max Planck at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg, Germany (2011, 2017) and Holder of the Jean Monnet Module “Human Rights and the Internal Market in the EU” (2015 – 2018).
