Dr. Björn Arp is a Fellow and Adjunct Faculty at the Center on International Commercial Arbitration at the American University Washington College of Law, where he also supports the International Legal Studies Program. Between 2016 and 2018, he was part of the List of Experts of the Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism of the Inter-American Development Bank, and since 2017 he is on the list of FINRA (Financial Institutions National Regulatory Agency) arbitrators in the United States. Björn is an attorney admitted in the State of New York, and he is also admitted before the United States Court for International Trade. He acts as counsel on a wide range of matters of international law. He is a frequent speaker at panels and conferences in Latin America, the U.S., and Europe about arbitration and other international law developments. He has participated in the past in several Vis Pre Moot competitions and has coached teams since 2012 to participate in commercial and investment arbitration competitions. He also has written numerous moot arbitration problems for the competitions held at American University Washington College of Law.
Björn Arp has a Law Degree from the University of Alicante in Spain, a Doctorate in International Law from the University of Alcalá in Madrid, and a LL.M. in International Legal Studies from the American University Washington College of Law. He is a member of the American Society of International Law.
