Amer J. Abu-Sham, LL.M., is currently a Senior Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Christine A. Ward, A.J., at the Commerce and Complex Litigation Center of the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Center deals with complex commercial disputes, including petitions to confirm or vacate large arbitration awards, shareholder derivative actions, actions involving mergers and acquisitions, actions involving restrictive covenants not to compete, actions involving commercial transactions involving complex factual or legal issues, large insurance coverage disputes, and business insolvencies. As a Judicial Clerk, Amer oversees case management, drafts legal opinions, prepares bench memoranda, and makes recommendations on case dispositions. Amer obtained his LL.M. in International Commercial Law and Dispute Resolution from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of law in May 2019. He obtained his LLB in law at the University of Jordan in 2017 where he participated in the Willem C. Vis Moot in 2016 and 2017 where he also served as the student coach. He is registered as an apprentice lawyer with the Jordanian Bar Association.
